Got my biopsy results back. They think I have Myeloid Displastic Syndrome...which means that my cells arent able to become red cells, white cells or platelets. They are just there...and overtime they will mutate and become leukemia cells. They think that was what happened when I was first diagnosed with AML...and its happening again. Only 15%

BUT! That's what I have right now. And since being diagnosed with it six months ago, I've been doing really well (for transfusions every week). Often, MDS doesn't turn back into AML, especially when caught early. I have a friend who was diagnosed with MDS when she was six, she had a transplant, and today she's 23 and a CNA at Sacred Heart. And that was 17 years ago. Think of what they can do today!
