earlier this week, i talked to andrea on the phone and we figured out my whole senior recital program. I was all excited about it, even though andrea kept warning that it was a lot of music and that i had better get to work if i want to do that november recital. so i have been working on it, and i already learned the whole english set (which is ( Read more... )

lol... come on.. think like an engineer... just take some/most of the songs under tempo by a little bit and when you amortize the time over the whole 43 minutes, your set will be up to 48.

Sean and I bumped mine up about 5 minutes just by slowing down my French set.

Um...I thought you wanted a spring recital and SHE wanted you to do a November recital?

My recital was only 43 minutes and Ms Marsee had no problem with it, but I was also dealing with that weird teacher-flux thing where no one really knew which studio I was in. Alice was at 48 minutes and Andrea flipped out on her about two weeks before because it was allegedly too short. So I guess I'd keep her informed about the time early enough that you can throw something else on if you need to?

Originally, I wanted to do a November recital, and she wanted spring. Then, just when I had gotten used to the idea of doing it in the spring, she changed her mind.

and she really really is obsessive about the time thing. she likes her students to be at 55 minutes so that they are right in the middle. i emailed her the times last night, and i had an email at 8 this morning about options for adding time.
