Erste [Video + Text]

[Icy blue eyes focus intently on the screen before them, lips pressed into a hard, thin line. The face may look familiar to some, though a year or two older than remembered-- humans mature so much faster than the Shinigami, after all. The video catches the sound of typing, text accompanying the image; he seems unaware he's being recorded as he ( Read more... )

Orihime? [Raven remembers that name, although she didn't really get to know the girl.] She was here for a while. But I'm afraid she's not anymore.

Do you know of someone named Ulquiorra?

So I've heard.

[It's so strange to hear all these people refer to Inoue by her personal name without honorific. Given, they're Westerners doing it, but still--]

[His expression, though, darkens at Ulquiorra's name.]

One might say that.

[She notices the change of expression and shrugs.] Not an ally of yours, then? Although you don't seem very friendly with the shinigami either... [Yes, she's given a look to the previous video feeds.]

I usually advise new comers to go to Mrs Unohana's clinic upon their arrival here, but you might not welcome this idea. ...Am I mistaken?

The Shinigami were allies of necessity, nothing more. [Note the past tense.] Alliance does not necessitate friendship.

I will make my own way, without their assistance.

I'm afraid I don't know any of those people; but then, I've only arrived here myself about two weeks ago. Though I'm sure it's a pleasure to meet you, I have to say that I'm sorry to see new faces here so soon.

At any rate, my name is Hermione Granger. I'm afraid there are others that are better-equipped to answer any questions you may have, but if you need any assistance, I've heard there's a library in the vicinity of which I plan to make very good use.

From what I gather, there's nothing to be sorry for-- it's not as if you're responsible.

It's nice to meet you, despite the circumstances.

A library would be useful. Perhaps it might be productive to work together to sort through the available information more quickly.

It's nice to see someone so pragmatic in this place.

I'm meeting a girl named Raven at the library this weekend. Though I should check with her first, I see no reason why she should be against your coming along, should you decide you want to.

Is pragmatism so uncommon here?

Ah-- of course. I understand.

[Kurosaki Ichigo...Ukitake knows the name, but thinking of the face matching it still makes him uneasy, even after learning that he young man deserves so much thanks.]

Kurosaki-san and Inoue-san have been here before, but are not any longer. I trust others have told you about the nature of Adstringendum?

[Another Shinigami.] I've heard as much. And I've obtained a brief overview.

[But he's the daddy~]

I see. If you have any other questions, all you have to do is ask.

Also, Unohana's clinic is open to new arrivals, so you are welcome to stay there until you find a more permanent place.

I will. [If he's asking a Shinigami, though, it'll be Kuchiki or Urahara.]

... That won't be necessary.

Ah, Ishida-san. [Someone is clearly surprised, though certainly not displeased--to see him.] Unfortunately, as I believe you've probably already heard, you are the only one from Karakura here, at the moment...

Kuchiki-san? [There's a look of surprise that flickers across his features, bordering on faint nostalgia, before he gives her the first smile-- albeit a very faint one-- to cross his lips since he arrived] ... I'd heard as much, yes.

It's been quite some time.

[A small nod, but she isn't smiling just yet--first she has some things to establish...]

For me, yes, it has been... This is, I suppose, strange to ask, but, before now, when was the last time you saw me?

... Seventeen months ago. After the war against Aizen was won. We're seniors, now. Myself, Sado-san, Inoue-san... Kurosaki.

[ Nemu has absolutely no emotion what so ever upon seeing Ishida. The only thing she's pondering is how he'll react to Mayuri. With that said, she decides the best course of action is to steer both Uryu and Mayuri away from each other. She doesn't greet Uryu either. The last thing he'd probably want right now is to be greeted. ]

The people you have listed are not here. The Ryouka Girl and Boy are both stated to have been here at an earlier time, but, they have disappeared.

Ah... Kurotsuchi Nemu-san. [He's not as immediately averse to her as most Shinigami-- certainly not anywhere near as averse to her as her captain-- but he remains polite and formal, if a little less cold than he is towards most Shinigami.]

I've been informed-- though 'the Ryouka Boy' could refer to Kurosaki, Sado-san, or even myself, you're aware. It's a rather imprecise term to use.

[ She knows of his personal distaste to Shinigami but she doesn't quite comprehend it. It comes from her dedication to Mayuri. His actions are normal to her, no matter how callous they can be. When normal is amorality, it's difficult to grasp pain from losing your loved ones.

But, that doesn't mean it's completely lost on her. She herself knows that if Mayuri died, she'd be very upset. She's able to give a shallow understanding of why Ishida is angry, but she doesn't find the actions wrong. She remains the same as she would with anyone ]

You are Ishida-san. I am aware of how inclusive the term is, but it appears others have told you about his appearance and disappearance. [ She doesn't want to directly state that Mayuri wants to kill him, and therefore she can't really use respectful terms. She doesn't want to unease Uryu, or at least get him riled with news about Mayuri. ]

Kuchiki-san is here, if it pertains to your interest. There are also two Espada. Ulquiorra and Szayel.

[ She doesn't seem to phase her usual shell-like ( ... )

... I see. I was made aware of both Kuchiki-san's presence here and the Cuarta's.

I hadn't been told the Octava was here as well.

[A slight pause as he considers it, remembering all too clearly what Szayel did to Nemu. Reaching up, he adjusts his glasses.]

I appreciate the information.

You seem... unharmed.
