Harry Potter book 6

Well I did this last time around so I'll do it this time.

I tend to be vague anyway but I'll cut it for spoilers in case I accidentally let something slip that people don't want to know ahead of time.

Overall the book is better than the last couple, where Rowling had tended to rely too heavily on accident and circumstance to further the plot; people seem less likely to conveniently forget relevant information at the important points, unless it is in character.

Rowling is almost getting better at the teenage squabbling hormonal character development than the magical plot elements, slushy fanfic writers will probably rejoice at this, but they pair anyone with anyone else anyway. Unfortunately, again lessons themselves have been largely reduced to a passing reference.

Regarding the ending part of the book, it is something that should be obvious from halfway through; so obvious that the ending seems to ring false for me as if the entire thing was staged.

The book fails to clear up many outstanding danglers, and even adds a few more, which means that book seven will have plenty to do, or else Rowling will be beseiged with calls for an eighth just to clear things up; on top of people who want more anyway.
