So, actual planting started on 2 Fall :( This time I decided to not make a whole field of Crop of the Month - the carrot. Vaughnie hates carrots, of course I wouldn't do that to him. It's not because carrots don't regrow and is the lowest profit fall crop. Of course not.
After much deliberation, I reduced my field size... to 40 or 45 bags, lol. Of Eggplants because... they regrow and have pretty good profit. I would go for the top-profit Yams, but I hear they tend to drown if we even get only 2 consecutive days of rain. Would be sad if my entire field is dead after heavy rain. So, lots of eggplants, and one small plot of 2x3 land in the corner for carrots.
Have I mentioned the husband bed? Yeah, so we chastely sleep in our own beds. Why did we even marry? But anyway, the green sprites have just started their looooong holiday so I went and paid full price to upgrade my house a final time. Now it's a small mansion and I'm just waiting for Chen to stock the Baby bed now.
Early month we had the Cow Festival and Sophia won easily. I think that got me another Green Suteki. Mid-month or so was the Dog festival. Chuck had 7 or 8 hearts and it took quite a few reloading but it was so worth it. I received the Orange Suteki for winning. So Fall suddenly became my mining month. With 2 Green Suteki on my hoe, digging costs no stamina. The Orange on my hammer gives me double ores. To top things off, fall crops don't need a lot of water (too much and they die) so I don't usually have to water them often. So most time and energy were spent in the mines, and I earned myself Goddess Pendant (M) (+50% max Stamina) and Turbo Shoes. I love the shoes. It made the last 6 seasons feel like slow motion. It cost a whooping 60 Orihalcrums. The pendant was ok but since I always sleep late, exhausted and hungry (my poor rancher ._.), it's never max when she wakes, lol. I think I'm not very efficient with my stamina.
It was also around this time that I realized the coveted Teleport Stone was in Chen's store for 100K G. Not an accessory waiting to be unlocked at Charlie's. OTL I had 100K G so many times previously but I kept ignoring his store T_T But by then the Green sprites had 4 more days till their holiday ended so I made do with Turbo Shoes. Around 25 Fall I hired them to discount Chen's store and bought it for 90K G. Since I was there, I picked up the large rucksack and beauty box (store accessories) as well.
Meanwhile, the Harvest Festival took place on 10 Fall and I chose to be polite and bring a grade-A crop. Unfortunately, since the eggplants weren't ready and the potatoes and corn were slowly rotting in my fridge, that left me with carrot as the only choice. Everyone loved the stew this year - presumably that means Vaughn didn't notice :P
Also, it took a few days of married life before I remembered to go home for lunch. Lunch is 1-2pm and I was often outside at the time and not in the habit to run home. But now that I've a hubby at home, I try. He makes me things like Grape Jam, Apple Jam, Dry Curry and so on. Awww, honey. Then I kiss him goodbye and go out the door and put it into the shipping bin and go back to work.
>_>
Well the fridge is full with my hoarding and I have cheap Braised Potatoes in my bag for whenever I feel like fainting from hunger. What was I going to do with his lunch? What he doesn't know doesn't hurt him >_>
Anyhow early Fall I ended up with another 10 Sun stones just minding my own business so I raised Fruit Island and planted all available fruits - orange, apple, banana, grape, peach - in the 16... plots of tree space. Now I have 7 different sets of Sun/water points to keep track of orz. It's like oh today, Apple needs another 2 sun, 3 water to sprout and Eggplants need another 6 sun and 0 water to bear fruit and (5 others) and... which do I water again? once or twice? <- my daily woes
I dumped some of those gold lumber sitting around to fence up about half the trees. The rest had stone fences. All are intact so far and are at seedling stage (stage 2).
I slowly picked up my social life - mainly just making up with 1-2 villagers (Gannon and daughter, then Chen and son) at a time, give them gifts when they start to accept again, get 5 hearts and go to the next. Still lazy to befriend the 'sub villagers' even though I haven't got their easy Sun stones. Anyhow, I think I'm left with the Rice Island - fall is too late to start planting anyway - and greenhouse island - big investment for big profits... but it can wait - and finally some Sunny Island that adds characters? Oh well, islands can take a backseat for now :P Also went out of my way to make the rival events happen for all 4 pairs.
I let the monkeys rest 10 days or so, feeding the Mice with feed instead, then switch to Mayonnaise so that both monkeys and mice get to eat. I had to buy cooking oil for awhile to make the mayonnaise and then I gave up waiting for green sprites and paid full price to build the maker shed (that would be end Winter) and the yarn, mayonnaise and cheese makers. Selling all the yarn i hoarded earned about 100K+ ^^ Still kept most of my milk and eggs for future cooking needs.
On 29 Fall or so, I was diagnosed (isn't the doctor cute?) pregnant! (Would've been one day earlier but it was the crop festival, which I easily won). Vaughn is in disbelief, haha. But then he lets me run the farm on my own anyway. Ah, the indestructible babies of Harvest Moon. They always did survive field tilling and mining, and this one even survives the mom falling 9 floors in the mines. Overall Fall was a season of high income and high expenditure.
30 Fall was Pumpkin festival and I gave all the kids (rotting) gelatin again and got to attend Felicia's pumpkin party again. This year Vaughn is there too. I like how he's at every (?) festival now. He told me I could eat his share. So sweet-- nah, I think he just really doesn't like most veggies xD Still, he attended ♥
It was a pretty dry fall. I wish I planted Yams.
