This is Naoto's bio for the Shin Megami Tensei Dressing Room.

Everything changed the day she was kidnapped, for Naoto was introduced to the Velvet Mall.

Naoto made friends on her own, unaided by a need to complete a social link for the sake of power. Instead of someone who needed the power of the Fortune Arcana, she found a wild eclectic group of people who accepted her desire to be a detective, her gender, her. The power of friendship is a strong power indeed. The time she spent in the Mall helped her brace for her Shadow and accept it more willingly. So how does this change her world?

Who needs Souji? No really. Who?

Naoto returned to her world with Yamato-Takeru and the Fortune Arcana crumbled.

Naoto resisted invitations with the other members of the Investigation team, only serving them as she did the police forces. Providing them with insight, opinions and ideas about matters. Not distracted by trivial matters of high school life, and having 'friends to confide in' keeping her Grandpa from his plans, she realized the threat heading towards Nanako. On the night that Souji got the letter, the one that warned him about the next victim, Dojima took his nephew to the police station. Unaware that Naoto was on her way to the Dojima household, or that the kidnapper was on his way to the house as well.

Naoto could see the man carry Nanako into the back of the truck, she could only assume there was a TV in there. She drew her gun and handcuffed the man to the back of the truck before entering the back of the truck herself. Never part of the team she knew about the glasses, but never carried them as she didn't foresee entering the world herself. Nor did she have a full understanding about the Other World. She expected to return to her dungeon and find Nanako there. Instead she found herself on the first floor of the Heaven's dungeon.

Blinded by the fog, she went through the place barely fighting off the Shadows that came at her. Finding Nanako after hours of searching she tried to lead the girl back to the gates. Only to find the kidnapper had been chased by Dojima and wrecked before entering the TV himself. For while Naoto had been gone, a beat cop had found the kidnapper and was told about Naoto handcuffing him. But obviously not that he had been handcuffed because he had kidnapped Nanako.

The 'murderer' was released and a call was dispatched to the station about 'Shirogane's baffling behavior'. Dojima finding out, due to his position working beside the Detective Prince, that Naoto apparently had found the kidnapper and was trying to rescue Nanako herself. Naoto protected Nanako, giving her an order to find any flight of stairs and take them. Hoping she, herself, could hold off the man long enough until the team arrived to rescue the child.

The fight was brutal, alone, unable to see through the fog, Naoto was beaten nearly to death before the door of the Mall opened again. Saving her by dumping Naoto into the mall before the Shadow possessed man could kill her.

She found the original journal, copied it and gave it to the police to be kept under 'lock and key'. The way it had been thrown aside, a trash can near the accident, making her feel uneasy. Something was wrong and she didn't know what. She spoke to Dojima, and placed the original journal amid her belongings, sealed away. That had been in November, while the team went about retrieving Namatame before the fog could get to him. Apprehending him took time, the battle long and hard with Souji by her side. They had their private understanding, and Souji seemed determined to keep Naoto safe and near.

But the night when they confronted Namatame, though Naoto helped them get in, she left the hospital after the meeting. Receiving a call requesting her presence regarding the case. Naoto went back to the police station and became the true murderer's next target. As she studied the case file left on the table, she was struck from behind. Knocked out and dumped into a television near by, Naoto was left inside the otherworld. The dungeon of the murderer, in a room utterly sealed, no way in or out save through the odd 'open sky' that he created when this place was created.

Naoto was left helpless, unable to escape or get help as she stayed locked in a small room.

One side note: In Persona 4 there are two events where Yosuke has done something to upset the girls and no matter the choice, you make you take the fall with him. Because the game makes choosing pointless because no matter what you're busted, and because it rewards you for siding with Yosuke in an assertive manner, that is the reality this Naoto comes from.

Souji: Naoto views Souji as one of Yosuke's lackeys outside of the Other World. Since he goes with everything Yosuke says, and Yosuke himself is pretty thoughtless in action, Naoto doesn't respect Souji personally. Only as someone in charge of the Investigation Team's case. It's after discussing the Mall with Satake and Shura that Souji's realized what has happened. As such he sought out those injuries that Naoto hid within herself, and made it a point to look after her. Giving her what she needed, in having a friend, a leader, and dropped the teenage act. His reward came in the form of Naoto opening up to him, and allowing himself a chance to know 'her' better.

Chie: Naoto finds Chie's determination to be a cop surprising and appreciative, of that she does warm up a bit more to Chie's presence then most of the other team members. Going along with most of Chie's stunts and ideas out of amusement. Despite not being as intelligent as Naoto, even since school times, Naoto is more willing to side with Chie or get involved in Chie's own stunts because she has more or less common sense then Yosuke.

Yukiko: Naoto is polite towards the heiress, but shows very little acknowledgment towards her. They're polite towards each other.

Yosuke: Naoto doesn't pay much attention to him unless it's during the TV world when it's more mission centered. After he put her name on the Beauty pageant list back during her time in Inaba, she's been very cold to him. In fact to her, he's the ringleader of the Trio of jerks in the group. IE: Yosuke, Souji, and Kanji.

Teddie: Naoto doesn't mind showing a bit of her softer side to the Shadow. She still views him in the same light as she does in the DR so unlike just about anyone else. She's nice towards him, and drops the Ice Princess mentality for him.

Kanji: Naoto doesn't see what Rise insists is there. Nor does she see Kanji as a suitable person to be in a relationship with. Despite Rise's push for it.

Rise: Oh now where to begin? Souji's had a thing for Naoto for a while now, but Naoto's resistance gave Rise hope that Souji would fall for her. Instead Souji finally broke down Naoto's wall and Rise feels more threatened in losing the guy whom she likes. Thus she pushes for Naoto to be with Kanji, much to Naoto's annoyance.
