Just got back from another trip to New York! I got to stay a week this time, and it was directly proportional to the difficulty I had leaving. I'm so glad I'm moving up there soon. There was a part of me that was tempted to miss my plane and call my parents to send my stuff up because I was staying. If only.
The show went amazingly. Boyfriend's shadowcast, the Zydrate Enthusiasts Network, did a show in the NYC theater where the stage play was performed five years ago. I was drafted to play Single Mom (not that I minded), and I made kind of a shitty censor bar for my boobs. Then I bought a shirt from a friend of mine (he was there selling official REPO! Army merch and also to reminisce. He was in the original stage play of REPO!, which is OMGAMAZING. And he's also a total sweetheart.) and realized I could fold it into a censor bar with the Army logo showing. Yay! So I settled down in the audience to wait for my part. Then, a bit into the show (I think it was 21st Century Cure?), a cast member came to ask me if I could play a GENtern in Zydrate Support Network. I'd been planning on being a GENtern once I moved, but hadn't practiced the choreography a bit. Thank god it's an easy scene. I borrowed costume pieces and actually did pretty well, I was told later. Being Single Mom was nervous-making since I've got a few body issues (mostly centered around my boobs), but the cheers I got at the reveal made it SO worth it. Boyfriend plays Pavi, and there's a group of girls who worship him. Apparently later they were talking about how sweet it was that he groped me onstage. Kay then? XD I also ended up meeting three of the guys who were in the NY stage play cast, including their Nathan, Tony Perry. They were all really nice.
I went to dinner with Jared, his mother, and her boyfriend, too. I hadn't met her yet since she, um, generally doesn't take to his girlfriends well. The most recent ex, she referred to as "that whore." I was nervous. But dinner went well, and Jared said that after, all she said about me was that I was sweet, and the way I talked was cute. So that's good, right? The food was yummy, too. Calamari for an appetizer and then lasagna.
It's weird being back in Virginia now. It doesn't feel like home anymore, already. But I'll be in Long Island soon enough!
