After sending my friend off at the bus station, I went off to shop a bit for an upcoming birthday. I sorta like getting odd foods at times (for people who actually appreciate eating STRANGE things) but, I don't like spending too much money on something I'd regret. X_x;

Well, with the hopes of the recipient not reading this entry. . . (ahaha)
I got gummy pandas again. lol Take it as a higher-end gummy bears with more unique flavors. I got the Apricot Green tea last time and you really can taste the tartness of the apricot but, it has a honey-like sweetness that follows. Unlike the cheap haribo gummy bears, this panda has FLAVOR. (Don't get me wrong, I love haribo gummy bears too. lol) I'm sure they'd make really cute stocking stuffers during the holidays that may amuse your foodie friends. :3

Then I wandered out and found a country-house type shop that carried home made caramels. For once I can say. . . THIS PLACE HAD MORE EXPENSIVE CARAMELS THAN MY STORE! O_O; And my store sells caramels for around $55 or $60 a pound. X_X;; But, this place was $1 a piece. I can say it was worth it though. I ended up buying 1 of the Apple Cider Caramel and the Beer-Pretzel Caramel. I'm sure a lot of people can picture a caramel apple melting in your mouth for the first one. The second one was one of the strangest caramels I've ever tried. O_o; There's a little cookie-like crunch from the pretzel that follows a slightly bitter aroma from the. . . whey? or something. But the bitterness adds to the accent of the sweetness of the caramel and the salt from the pretzel definitely brings out the flavor of the caramel. So you get a whole bonanza of sweet, bitter, salty, crunchy rolling around in your mouth. It does get quite confusing since you don't know what you're looking for. But whatever. It was good. (And that's what all matters, right? XD)

After, I went off to the holiday market and after making my way through the countless amount of pointless candle/spa/jewelry/animal-hat shops. . . I finally found the tinyass food area. YAY for German mulled wine! I didn't get any this time, but I had it last year and mulled wine really makes me happy. *^* It reminds me of the cold days in England. LOL

Anyhow, I was drawn to this rather Mediterranean looking silk-road-trade shop that was selling little trinkets and. . . cookies! They looked like normal cookies but the flavors were really unique! I got 6 for $10 and the ones I have to recommend are. . .
Ambrosia: Fig, Pear, sage, roasted walnuts, cream honey
This one also has a lot going on. But you first smell the sage. It's almost like you accidentally smashed your face into a real Christmas wreath and took a big sniff out of it. You get that strong WHIFF of sage, then the sweetness of the honey, fig and pear all happen. I think I missed out on the walnut somewhere. . . or my mom ate that part. >_>;;

Hoi An: Viet coffee, sweet cream and dark chocolate
Viet mocha is essentially what this cookie is. A strong espresso flavor with the creamy condensed milk mixed in. I think I tasted coffee with sugar more than condensed milk. Then again, it's not easy trying to get a condensed milk flavor in the cookie. . . unless you throw in some white chocolate instead. . . then again, I think the dark chocolate maybe made the cookie keep the bitterness of the coffee. Either way, I really liked it. Then again, it can be me being biased about liking mocha and Viet coffee. 8D

NY Pretzel: Salted Pretzel with dark chocolate
This was like a chocolate covered pretzel inside of a cookie dough. It's exactly what you're probably imagining right now. lol I don't think I need to explain this.

Bissau: Peanut butter, banana and chocolate
Another one of me being biased. Those 3 are like my 3 of my most favorite cookie flavors. Anything with peanut butter (in cookies only) and banana and chocolate. . . omfg. Menage a trois in MY mouth that'll make me 20 lbs fatter? I REGRET NOTHING!!!!

lol Or maybe.

And after sweets (NO I DID NOT EAT ALL THAT IN ONE SITTING! I still have a whole bag left!) I craved for something salty. D: So, I found a pretzel stand! (How many pretzel related things did I buy today?! X_X;;) They were selling savory pretzels so, I had to get one. *^* I really wanted to try the truffle cheddar pretzel but, they were sold out so I resorted in getting the feta-- something. ._.; It was a soft pretzel with cheese in it. They warmed it up for me so I had a really warm piece of yummy bread-pretzel in my hand while strolling off to see blankoo at her work. LOL

Well, I walked cross-town so I think I burned off enough calories. I think. I hope. .__.;
