Blue Exorcist is VERY EXTREMELY cliche shounen manga. Imagine it being like D.Gray-man in a very modern setting. The art vaguely reminds me of Soul Eater but the concept is very much D.Gray minus all the emo-ness. lol But I personally don't mind extreme cliche as long as they pull it off well. I just take it as "another JUMP thing" so, I don't try to look for extreme chara developments or plot twists. Straight to the point, easy to watch with good seiyuu. :D
