Writer's Block: Childhood Firsts
My first word... I think as a child it was "no." Pretty useful, huh? According to my parents I knew what it meant too. I would say it to like everything... must have been a hastle. I don't remember what my second word was but I think it was more of the usual like 'mommy' and 'daddy.'
I'm curious now to know what my first French word was... that's my second language and I don't think anyone kept track of the first thing I said in it. I only started learning French when I went to school at the age of four so I guess I spewed words faster than a baby would when learning their first language so no one really kept track at all. It was probably just like 'bonjour' or something anyway...as anticlimactic as ever.
After my brother was born my parents pretty much stopped keeping track of all those things. Guess baby bliss had faded by then, hahah. It's cool though. Also might be 'cause I had a really bad case of the flu around that time when I was little and almost died...so I guess they had bigger things to worry about.
