Never has anyone looked more despondent while looking over the grand display of the expansive and beautiful capital of Alexandria than Cloud Strife did as he looked out the window of the air cab he was in. He had visited almost every point of Alexandria and the castle itself was his next destination. After having lost contact with Lightning and surviving an onslaught of vile Malboro Cloud had been going to random spots through the Alexandrian Kingdom, whether it was to just take his mind off the moment or actively looking for Lightning was something he tried not to think over too much. Yet on every air cab ride taken thus far he had looked over each person looking for a familiar face. The sounds of brakes squealing and a light lurch of the cab meant they had landed at their destination and as usual Cloud stayed watching everyone disembark in the off chance he had missed seeing someone he knew. Once it became empty he stepped off, the door closing behind him. However the city of Alexandria was not what it had been the last time ( ... )

Rachel too was searching the city. Having been separated from Zack amid a sea of tangled thrashing vines and screaming, terrified civilians. As she peered through the crowd that was gathered for the festival though she saw something imediately recognizable. It was the hilt of a sword that seemed too unrealistically large for anyone to be wielding. It had to be him. Pushing through the crowds of people from other lands who were all taller than her, Rachel reached out and placed a hand on the man's shoulder, shoving a little to get his attention.

She was quite surprised however when she then looked up to see that the person she'd just shoved was some blond man. There were two people that used that huge sword? It was almost unbelievable...almost. She had to laugh a little in her own embarassment.

"Oh man I'm sorry. I though you were some other spikey haired guy with a giant sword" She told him. And that just made her feel even more silly.

Who knows how long he would have stood there if not for the fact that he light shove on the shoulder snapped him back into focus and he quickly looked to who had done it. She wasn't someone he recognized, but her laugh made Cloud give a mixture of a verbal "Huh?" mixed with a "Wha-?" He blinked a few times to fully digest what she just said.

"Another...?"

In his momentary pause he reflected on the fact that who she was referring to, his old friend who had died trying to save them both. Along with the possibility that he might be alive. Others who have died were drawing breath now, how could it be so far fetched that he hadn't been as well.

"Zack?" he blurted out suddenly. "Zack's back?!"

Startled, Rachel went silent for a moment. She hadn't actually expected the man to know who she was referring to and it threw her off a little. After a second though she grinned widely. "Oh wow I can't believe you know him. I mean...what are the odds, right?" She said with a short laugh. "But yeah, he's alive and well...well last time I saw him anyway. We got separated during the Malboro chaos but I'm pretty sure he can handle something like a bunch of plants on a rampage."

"So what's your name? How do you know him? I'm Rachel. I kind of well...I found him in a big block of crystal or something while I was on a treasure hunt. Not really what I'd expected to find But I guess it worked out pretty well all things considered." She politely left out the fact that he hadn't been wearing a thing when she'd found him. He didn't need to know those kinds of details unless and until Zack himself decided to tell him.

A party! A party! Rinoa all but leapt off of the airship as it landed, her movement made much more comfortable with the gunner dressphere she'd been using lately. As she landed, a pair of greeting ladies hurried up to her, giggling and joyful as they places a ring of braided flowers on her head and tucked a few extra ones in her two little braids for extra decoration. Wanting to complete the look, Rinoa picked out a dressphere she hadn't tried yet; the Songstress. She gave them a grateful smile and a thank you and then all but skipped down the street toward the sounds and smells of a wonderful festival.
