This Weekend's Project: Bread & Butter Pickles

This is my mom's tried and true Bread & Butter Pickle recipe. It has a serious amount of onion in it, and to be honest, usually the onions get picked out and eaten first by almost everyone that has had them, until all that's left is the actual cucumber pickles.

Meeee! :-D I'd love a jar. I won't be around so can't help make them, but I can chip in a bit for ingredients. I have fond memories of the time my mom, grandma, and a bunch of their friends made a huge batch of these when I was young. We had them around for ages, but they were a nice treat every now and then. :-)
