The Welcoming Movie

Jul 03, 2009 02:14

Two men and a young woman appear before the camera. While the woman looks quite enthusiastic, neither of the men look like they really want to be there; they both have their arms crossed and are looking off to the side, scowling.

"Welcome to Nautilus!" the woman says, beaming. "My name is Sari Sumdac. I'm sure you're very confused right now; we all are when we first arrive. But don't worry! Squall, Wykkyd, and I have prepared a little video to help you out."

The video cuts to a scene of the two men, both with their arms still crossed and looking rather awkward.

"... Where am I," the man with too many belts says in complete monotone.

"You're in Nautilus," the caped man quietly responds with no more inflection than the other. "Welcome."

"Nautilus. But how did I get here."

"You were--"

Sari's voice cuts in from behind the camera. "Come on! Show some enthusiasm!"

The man sighs heavily before continuing. "You were brought here from a dream world." Apparently, his version of enthusiasm is just speaking louder.

"A dream. What do you mea--"

"Squall!" Sari cuts in again. "You're supposed to be confused, not bored."

"... A dream? What do you mean?" He manages to add a bit more inflection this time.

"I mean that this is the real world. A world where you can be whoever you want to be."

"Really? Tell me more."

"You answered the call to Wake. Now you're here."

There's a long pause before Sari speaks again. "Yeah, I don't think that's gonna explai--"

The scene abruptly cuts to a map of Nautilus. "Nautilus is a city made up of four districts," Squall narrates, his tone completely professional ... but it's obvious he's reading this from a script. As he speaks, the appropriate locations on the map flash. "The District of Forests is in the south. It has that name for a reason. If you find yourself here and need assistance, speak with Optimus Prime or America.

"The District of Infernos is in the west. Many buildings are decorated with fire symbols. Sally can help you find your way. This district has a history of being more dangerous than most; take caution, and call for Megatron if you're in real danger. He's a little ... grumpy...."

There's a rustling of paper, and Squall coughs awkwardly before moving on.

"The District of Waterfalls is in the east. Again, it has that name for a reason. Wreck-Gar and Demyx can help you if you need it.

"The District of Whirlwinds is in the north. It has many large metal buildings. Ratchet, Sari, and ..." he sighs, "Squall ... will be happy to help you. Even if Squall seems like he doesn't car-- Sari, what is thi--"

The scene cuts back to the three young adults. Sari beams at the camera. "I hope that helped, newcomer! Oh, and one more thing."

The man who must be Wykkyd holds up a picture of Starscream.

"If you see this mech," Sari continues, reading off a piece of paper. "You've wandered into no-man's land, home of Starscream. Immediately go back the way you came. If he attempts to stop you, call for Autobot Blitzwing, who will arrive to ..." she hesitates, squinting at the paper before slowly continuing, "smack that slagger upside his idiotic head...."

Sari and Squall exchange a look before glancing at Wykkyd, who drops the picture with a scowl, appearing distinctly uncomfortable.

Squall finally breaks the silence. "Furthermore, if you see Starscream outside of no-man's land, inform Megatron or any Autobot right away; he's not supposed to be there."

Sari grins once more, waving happily at the camera. "Welcome to Nautilus!"
