THE LUMP OF DOOM SAGATM

I truly have a knack for picking the absolute worst health care providers in the state of Maryland. I don't know if I go out of my way or what, but I certainly do find the most brain damaged of the lot. I haven't been to medical school (she says, stating the absurdly obvious) and the ( Read more... )

I'm glad you have an appointment. If it helps, even all my internet and anecdotal training have taught me that mysterious lumps should NEVER be ignored! My friend had one last winter, and she asked her aunt and uncle doctors, and they were very concerned, and as it turned out, they were correct that it was serious, and because she got immediate treatment, everything is happy now. (I won't go into any scary details; I know that like me, you have probably already imagined the worst!)

If Beatles books and Chucks make you happy, then go for it!

I'm glad to hear you have an appointment scheduled. I really, really hope they're helpful. The mono part doesn't surprise me, that was what I was thinking when you'd mentioned it (*you're not the only person with a chronic case of know-it-all-itis*). I truly hope they address the lump, that's not ever something that should be overlooked.

If it makes you feel any better, ever since i had the mumps about 4 years ago, i tend to get a very hard lump around the back of my head when i catch some sort of viral thing like a cold. Sometimes the cold itself doesn't even materialise, but it seems the lymph nodes get activated anyway. Oh oh and on a totally different note, my fellow genealogy buff, have you ever seen 'who do you think you are'?

I had a lymph node behind my ear blow up. They thought it was cancer when they operated, but it turned out benign.

I guess what Im trying to say is dont ignore it, cause it sounds like something, but I dont mean to imply that it is cancer.

(God, I sound like an idiot sometimes.)
