In a moment of stupidity this afternoon (caused by too many distractions and insufficient caffeine), I accidentally deleted a bunch of my personal files. No worries; I do weekly backups, so disks are spinning and the files are being restored right now

Hmmm... I haven't played with Windows 7 yet; I'm still running XP for the rare times when I can't do things under Linux (although now that the Hugin panorama maker and the aMule file-sharing client run under Linux, that's getting rarer.)
