I nearly shut down today while waiting for the doctor to see me. I was looking around the room at all the instruments and tubes and cameras and wires and I started feeling nauseous. Once again, you guys were damn awesome as Team Zissou.

And I'm not sure if you're aware, but at the Doctor's office you can let them know that you would prefer that tests be performed by a woman, if available.

It's a perfectly reasonable request, and you don't even have to explain why you'd prefer it.

Yeah I know. And the guy who would be doing the tests is in his 40s and though I thought I was not ok with that either it seems less weird with him. The young dude was just "observing" which I am never a big fan of and have had happen on a doctors visit before. I know you can request they not be in the room.

I have only had the "observer" once. However, it was during the most traumatic experience of my life. I was seventeen and thought I could be pregnant, and he was in there when I told the doctor. Eee-yuck.
