I'm dodging hurricanes left and right here in rainy-arsed Charleston, SC.

I'm actually thinking of applying for a fellowship to do some PhD-level research at a Japanese university...Osaka, of course. I can't be in some city when it shakes to the ground.

I AM ALLERGIC TO BEING CRUSHED BY A 40-STORY BUILDING.

Oh right! I remember hearing something about that....yeah, it's been a while since the last SF earthquake. Geez, wouldn't it be something if while I am here, there's the big earthquake and then when I get back to California there's another one! Blaaaah.

Been working the bar at Peet's, and I'm flying back to Oregon on the 22nd. It'll be nice to be finally back to school instead of waiting around. Glad you're having fun in Nihongo land.
