submitted words/plot yunjae ; college ; a babysits b after b is reverted back to childhood

The first thing Yunho notices about the little boy sitting in front of him is his remarkable resemblance to the other's oldest uncle.

Yunho of course knows that many children can resemble their aunt, uncle or even cousin more than they resemble their parents, but this little boy is like a mini version of his friend and Yunho sees no trace of the child's father in his young features.

He knows Junho from the several parties they have attended together until Junho's graduation last year and this boy looks nothing like him.

The sudden manner in which the boy looks up from the drawing he is working on to stare directly into Yunho's eyes catches the medicine student by surprise and he let out a tiny gasp as they make eye contact.

“Is something on my face?” The question would've sounded bold, almost provocative, if uttered by an adult, but to have it asked with the little boy's small voice, it sounds more curious than anything else.

“I just...you look very much like your uncle Jaejoong.” Yunho smiles. “Almost like a mini clone of him.”

The smile Yunho wears fades when he sees the way the little boy looks back down at his drawing sulkily.

“Have I said something wrong, Youngwoong?”

The boy shakes his head and continues to draw as if nothing has happened, but Yunho notices the way his small fingers hold onto the crayon even tighter while he puts more pressure into each stroke while running the crayon's point over the paper. Something is obviously upsetting his protegé.

“You know...it always helps me to talk about things which make me angry.” The tall student says as he leans forward as if wanting to tell a secret to the boy sitting across from him. “For example, when I was upset at someone from my family, I kept glaring at everyone without telling anyone why I was so angry until your uncle Jaejoong pulled me aside and pretty much forced me to tell him what's wrong. It felt really good to talk about it. I'm glad your uncle was there to make me feel better. He is awesome like that.”

The boy in front of him has long stopped drawing to listen to what Yunho has to say and the way he stares right at Yunho and actually grins almost makes him look like an adult. Yunho can't really tell what it is, but something about his protegé is different from other children.

He doesn't speak or move like a five year old.

Also, when he went to the science department's student council room earlier after receiving a text from Jaejoong in which his friend had asked for Yunho to look after his nephew on his behalf until Junsu would be done taking his exam, the young boy had been with Junsu, Yoochun and Changmin and what surprised Yunho a little was the lack of baby talk from Junsu's side when he interacted with his nephew.

It was like Junsu was talking to an adult and considering that Junsu is known for baby talking to every child no matter the age, it seems odd that he is making an exception for his very own nephew of all people.

“You talk about uncle Jaejoong a lot.” The little boy says and tilts his head as he speaks.

For some reason, Yunho feels like he had been caught red-handed. The sudden surge of warmth in his cheeks feels like a prickling burn underneath his skin and Yunho can't help but cough awkwardly.

“You think so?”

The little boy nods without even batting an eyelash. “He seems to be precious to you.”

Stunned by the boy's choice of words, Yunho gapes at him for a while before he relaxes and allows for a gentle smile to grace his lips.

“He is my most precious person. My one person.” Yunho admits calmly before he holds out his right pinky finger. “But promise me that you won't tell him, alright?”

The lack of response from the boy makes Yunho consider lowering his hand and let it be, but before he can make up his mind, he feels the young boy's pinky intertwining with his.

“I promise that I won't tell him.”

Yunho let out a chuckle and reaches over with his free hand to ruffle the boy's hair, his movements coming to a halt once he notices Changmin and Yoochun approaching them, their steps rushed while euphoria covers their faces.

“Hey J- eh Youngwoong, we got something really cool for you, do you want to go and see it?” Yoochun asks, but gives the boy no opportunity to utter more than a confused 'Uh' before he and Changmin pick him up and carry him out of the canteen while uttering frantic words of gratitude Yunho's way.

“Uh.” Is all Yunho manages to say.

Yunho looks up in curiosity when someone places their bag in front of him on the table and when he discovers the familiar face of Jaejoong in his line of vision, Yunho can't help but smile brightly. “Jaejoong.”

“Hey.” Jaejoong replies airily before he occupies the seat across from Yunho and sinks his teeth into his bottom lip.

The taller student raises his eyebrows in wonder as he notices the tinge of red on the other's cheeks while Jaejoong tries very hard to avoid his gaze. “Is something the matter? You seem nervous.”

“Uh.” Jaejoong pauses and swallows as he stares at Yunho for a brief second before he chooses to look away again. “Just the usual. We're having a test in a few weeks and I'm a little nervous. Also, since Yoochun and Changmin are not allowed to enter the laboratory for the next two weeks, I will have to look for someone else to practice with and you know how I get around new people.”

“Whoever gets to be your partner will be the luckiest person in class.” Yunho smiles. “And what have Yoochun and Changmin done this time to be denied access to the laboratory again?”

Jaejoong sighs. “They thought it was a good idea to put the product of one of their crazy de-aging experiments into a normal water bottle and someone drank it thinking it was water and well, nothing much happened, but the prof was not very happy to hear about it.”

“Ah...” Yunho drawls as he recalls yesterday's happenings. “That's somehow...very typical Yoochun and Changmin.”

The pale student let out a tired chuckle as he nods in agreement.

A while of silence follows the exchange before Jaejoong takes a deep breath and looks up to meet Yunho's gaze directly. “Say Yunho, would you like to go on a date with me?”

To say that the question has taken Yunho by surprise would be an understatement and for a moment, he could almost swear that his brain had stopped functioning.

“Like...a date? Like, a real date?” Yunho almost feels like slapping himself. 'Very eloquent, Yunho. Real smooth.'

Jaejoong laughs lightly and it's almost as if he has transferred his nervousness to Yunho the moment he managed to utter the question. “Yeah, a real date.”

“I-I wow, like-” The tall student flinches at his own incoherent stuttering and wonders where all of his confidence has disappeared to the one time he needs it the most. “I-yes. Yes. I mean...yes.”

The sweet, pure smile of joy Yunho receives in return makes his heart race and shortly before Jaejoong reaches over to shyly take his hand and make Yunho's brain stop functioning again, he makes a mental note to himself to ask Jaejoong about that interesting-sounding experiment of Yoochun and Changmin, as well as Jaejoong's 'mini me' later on.
