Pretty hard to call it a recipe, but here's what you do.
You need: 1 chuck roast (ours was ~3.5lbs 1 onion a bunch of cut carrots a bunch of potato cubes (just cut up a bunch of potatos) ratios here are whatever you want them to be. put in more or less of whatever you like. some mushrooms of your coice. we used baby bellas but in half.
salt the roast put it in crock pot on low with two bay leaves and maybe a 1/2-1 cup of red wine (cab sauv is fine, but whatever). if wine's not your thing substitute water or beef broth of your flavorful liquid of choice. cook it on low for 4 hours or so. Probably a good idea to turn over the roast around three hours toss in the veggies and cook for however long it takes to get them the consistency you want. move it around once or twice to make sure everything is cooking. they'll release lots of fluid, so you don't need to worry about a lack of liquid.
