So instead of a hallway possibly being a fire hazard, the school is going to lose most of it's unique character inside its buildings... and drive students to the brink (as if they weren't almost there already).
...enforcing regulations is one thing. Destroying the unique and comforting image of a school by forcing it to SO STRICTLY ADHERE to regulations (I bet moreso than the firemarshall himself adheres to them, or for that matter the fire department or police department or any number of official places) is... disgusting, despicable, ddepressing... and wrong.
This just confuses me. I wish we could get some answers from the Fire Nazis Marshals as to why these things are a hazard.
Also, what happens if Salem doesn't comply with their demands? Fines? Insurance penalties? I was wondering where the hell all the rocking chairs went too. Main Hall looks terrible without them and it leaves students with no way to sit outside and enjoy the beauty of our campus. Gosh, speaking of which, what if all those flowers out there spontaneously combust? Quick - get rid of them!
Ugh, the more I think about it, the more irritated I get. ::grumbles:: I'm waiting for them to just announce, "Okay, we're tearing down Salem and replacing everything with concrete bunkers. Oh, also, everything will be underwater from now on. Thanks."
Pretty sure lack of compliance leads to fines that eventually trickle down to us, unless they can pine it on a specific person, or so the story I heard was such from Jalonda. The rocking chairs are gone, yes. Sad it is. Want to sit on the empty back porch for me and look sad and I'll take your picture?
yeah insaneage. It just makes little to no sense. guh. want my shit back. can't just take it without telling people. Fire Nazi bastards.
Can't they get in trouble for removing your property without notifying you? Sure, it is on their wall and you pay to live there, but it is still your property. What if it was something that was impossible to replace?
I've never been to Salem, at least to the dorms. But I can say from my own experience at an old Southern used to be girls school that we couldn't have anything in the halls. However, we could have stuff on the walls. It's the removal of all signage and wall art that baffles me. And the rocky chairs? Anyway, I'm sorry to hear that the change is so drastic and that no one took the time to inform people, get their input and arrive at a solution together.

It only throws off the layout a little bit. And since when does size matter? Plus, you are right and that they are much more effective at this original size. Thanks for putting these up. Sometime later Tuesday (amidst doing inane busy work) I hope to get all of the pictures I took, some forty odd ones, and put them all organized and up somewhere for those interested.
