I had a great weekend! Despite the fact that I gave people only 3 days notice everyone who I called turned up for my party at the weekend. They came from Galway, Dublin, Limerick and other places not worth mentioning. Rum, Whiskey, Guinness, Vodka, Gin, Champagne and Beer all arrived as expected, along with several boxes of cds. I watched Mulholland drive last night. What a headwrecking film. I hear you need to watch it 2 or 3 times before you can piece it together. I am listening to addaggio de Albinoni at the moment. It is truely an incredible piece of music. People have said it about Mozart that no one could express in words what he could in music. I think this has to be true of Albinoni also - at least with adagio for strings in g minor. It says so many things, and drags up emotions from the deepest parts ( Read more... )

I repeatedly hit my alarm clock and still the beeping continues. 'Oh come on!' I cry aloud as I open my eyes to make sure that it is indeed my alarm clock that I am striking.
