Yay! So glad you like Hong Kong! Hong Kong reminds me of New York, but with a lot more Chinese people, or, in other words, as though Chinatown took over New York but didn't make it totally ghetto!

"Hello Gucci Prada Handbag Suit Slurpee Louis Vuitton Women's Suit"

= my impression of HK Indian sellers

Which part of HK are you stayin in? Have you been to Chung King mansions yet? kind of scary.

i'm staying in kowloon, in tsim tsa chui, w/in walking distance of chung king mansions, which we were told to stay away from unless we go in a group b/c it's seedy. the three teachers in our group went together there once a few yrs ago and a fight almost broke out b/w them and some guys who wanted to mug them.

the suit guys...wow. glad we don't have that in the usa. also "copy watch? copy watch, boss?"

hkg was totally awesome and i would come back in a second. i should learn cantonese first, though...

It's really bad that I'm reading the Bourne Supremacy right now (well sorta, haven't picked it up in weeks because of, well, school upon school upon jobs), because every time I see an update or post here or on fb about you and hong kong I have this 1980s Robert Ludlum "This was Hong Kong" moment.

But sounds like you're having fun. Good to know.
