I succumbed to tumblr too, but mostly so I could lurk on tags after they made it a members only thing. I still can't deal with large blocks of text in that format.

It was definitely an acquired taste for me. And Tumblr's developers seem intent on making communication more difficult, because that's what you should do on a social networking site. :p
