as a victim of rape i think i should say something. i think it's wonderful that jessica has a friend like you. when i was raped my "friends" made no effort whatsoever to contact me. no IM, email, calls, etc. It is important that you stay in touch with her, tell her that you love her, and remind her that this is not her fault. even if she doesn't make contact back at first. chances are it may be too painful to even write a little email
