Making the journal private will accomplish part of what you want to do, perhaps, but you should also check on your search settings, and do some Google and Archive checks just to see what has already been placed in the long-term public domain.

True, although it can make it harder for such stuff to get out there, and one can always use the DMCA to demand takedown - if you wrote it it's copyrighted to you. (this post is (c) me and yours is (c) you automatically, no registration required). At least, in the case of US servers.

But use this lightly if you do resort to it.

Doesn't that kind of ruin the ability for people to see Three Stories? You sorta lose readers that way...

I understand your move. I am only surprised that _most_ LJ accounts, for anyone not actually advertising or trying to gain the public eye, aren't already "Friends Only ( ... )

I did this a while ago. I can't picture the boss firing me but I'm paranoid nevertheless. Everyone who I want to be able to read my stuff already can. (and I've had to use the banhammer a few times on my sole public post due to idiots who start screaming at me in said public post after I lock their threads elsewhere)
