Hopefully good news will start to catch up. One of my upstairs neighbors (Lucius' best friend) works at a fish restocking facility and plans to one day run his own fish farm. Apparently some old offshore oil well platforms are going to be converted into fish restocking and fish farming facilities.
The number of projects that I hear about locally (and this the place to hear about them) is getting larger.
I used to wonder if we were past the point of no return. My current belief is that we're not and that the pace at which we're developing solutions is accelerating. There is even a plan to clean Ann Coulter's brain and pump her stomach.
The pace is indeed accelerating.shodanMay 21 2005, 20:41:46 UTC
It's good to hear you say that your beliefs about the point of no return have changed. I'm not sure where I stand. I know that I WANT to be hopefull and subsequently have a slight distrust of my urge to be hopefull..know what I mean? I try to distance myself emotionally from the issue and examine the facts, and frankly...I don't know. There's so much, maybe too much to calculate and put together (population growth, politics, resource usage/scarcity....) And I suppose as long as I'm not sure that we're past the critical point I shouldn't proceed as if we are. But man, when I hear that we are....it's hookers and blow right up to the end. NOOGE
