Is anyone moving that needs a roommate in the next few months?  I'd like to move, and would rather find a place with someone.  Moving far away, or not far away are both fine.  I'm trying to ask around right now to see what options I have.

Mostly, I'm just worried about ending up somewhere and knowing absolutely no one, and hating it.  A one person ( Read more... )

hey george,

well, i don't know of anyone that's moving except for chris. he already has a place, but you're allllways welcome in minneapolis.

i still think you should go on your own. it's hard at first, but living with strangers is adventerous! craigslist.com worked for me... and a lot of others i know. it takes time to make friends post-college, but it does happen.

a lot of my friends in MN met through a cooking club that met once a month! they'd have a theme and assign who was bringing what, but essentially...a potluck. all because a girl posted a piece of paper at the YWCA. crazy.

mmm potlucks. i miss those.

love.

I would love to live near you and Chris. I actually spent time looking up minneapolis on craigslist and the internet. I'm definitely thinking about it. I found Chris' bob Marley socks from the dalai lama. If he has an address, I'll mail them to you guys.

actually, i do have a really good hippie friend with dreds who will have a room open in july. of course, chris is considering it too so you might have to fight him for it. but yeah. he has a bonfire pit in his backyard.

I am moving actually, to raleigh, both a bus and bike friendly commuting area. I'm not sure how I feel about having a roommate, I'm kind of disatisfied with the people I'm living with presently. Also I have a cat, and we both have hair. :o)

I'm willing to consider the possibility though.

I've seen places as cheap as $495 for singles in the raleigh area, incase you can't find a roomie. Not sure what your price range is.

Raleigh? When are you moving? We should talk. Also, we should talk about Colorado or Minneapolis. =D I can understand wanting to live by yourself too, it can be nice.

I am planning to move somewhere somewhat far away in the next few months, actually. My lease in Boone is done at the end of July, and I intend to move somewhere not in NC. I am very open to considering different places, the only caveat is that I need to be close to a good music school or opera house. If you want to chat about it sometime, my cell phone is still the same as it was last time I talked to you, or you can attempt to catch me on AIM.

I'm a very easy-going roommate, as long as you can properly wash dishes or we have a dishwasher (the only thing I have against my current roommate is that she's horrible at washing dishes). I don't clean that much, but if something bothers you and you ask I will happily clean it up. I would love to move out somewhere with someone I know because I like new cities, but lack the courage to explore on my own. With someone else I will go anywhere, though.

Yes, call or instant message me. I don't really know where good music schools or opera houses are. I guess you're applying to grad schools, or looking for work? If you write some places down, that'd be swell to consider. Hope you are well!

If Mete and I do move up North and you can't find anywhere by then, we'd love to be your roomies :-) The North is always public transportation friendly as I know of, and liberal.

Vermont seems like a good state. What city in Vermont are you moving to so I can look it up. Either way, we need to make that from scratch pizza. I want to practice making more mozzerella. We should watch Ninja Turtles, or an Italian movie, or both.

The power plant is in Vernon, VT. But we're looking into living in

1. Greenfield, MA, since it's only 30 min away from both Vernon and UMass Amherst.

2. Keene, NH, since there is no sales taxes and no personal income taxes. But it's 1 hr away from UMass Amherst.

3. Brattleboro, VT, also 1 hr away from UMass Amherst, but only a few min from Vernon, nice little city.

Oh well, there's so much unknown. Waiting waiting.

Ooh, are you up for strawberry picking tomorrow afternoon? I'm picking up Michelle at 2 ish on UNC campus and perhaps we can pick you up too if you were at the restaurant.

Julia, I called you, but you didn't pick up. Yes, and yes, call me back?
