Book sounds good. I have heard lots of positive things about Sherlock.

Jim Moriarty is fantastic in this version. I really can't stress that enough. He's not the traditional genius-professor. Waaaay more psychotic. And he's not a professor, I don't believe. He calls himself a "consulting criminal," with no hint as to what it is he actually does. It gives him this eerie quality of being untouchable; unbeatable, even. And he looks so unassuming, which is one of the best parts.

And then there's the fact that he dresses up in the crown jewels.

The whole series has kind of a shadow-government air about it that's reminiscent of X-Files, which was my favorite show ever. No monsters or aliens, so it's odd, I guess, that this show is the closest any other has ever come to the X-Files FEELING for me. But it is true!
