Actually...like with most reality TV Idol Started in Europe. In fact I believe the brittish version (called "Pop Idol") was the first...just like with Survivor and Big Brother, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, The Weakest Link, Kitchen Nightmares etc... Hell even Iron Chef wasn't made up by the US... Britain's got Talent is a relativly new show also produced by Simon Cowell & Co. and there is already an american clone of it called (surprise surprise) America's Got Talent. However it is nowhere near as popular in the States so everyone is comparing it to Idol because people know what that is ( ... )
