(Haha, I don't know who that is, but I really adore Relena and always have. She's a great example of the OTHER kind of "strong female character": she's not a fighter, she doesn't have to be. She's iron willed, political, and smart.)
See my icon: She's the heroine of Gundam Seed, and follows in the footsteps of Relena by being (as you describe) a strong female character, who isn't a fighter but is iron-willed, political, and smart.
I love that you love Relena! :D Really, though, I love characters who grow strong through adversity and find their own ways and so on, and she really does, and also she's adorably polite all the time and it's hilarious compared to the pilots and their shriekingly rude speech forms, lololol
Honestly, I watched it with Em because she'd never watched it before, and it was really surprising to me how well it holds up just as a story? It's very political AND character driven, and I really enjoyed it, and loved the female cast so much. I was surprised by how progressive it was: multiple women in positions of power, never reduced, multiple women working together, achieving their own goals, supporting each other, etc. I love my pilots a lot, but it was great to see that there was more than even I remembered.

(PS: Relena is awesome, and we wouldn't have Lacus Clyne without her.)
