Some Random Thoughts about Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest.
1. Jack Davenport sounds eerily like Alan Rickman.
2. Orlando Bloom should never ever be given the lead role in anything!
3. What the hell is wrong with Elizabeth that she picks Will over Norrington or Jack?!
4. It occurred to me that I had no idea why the bottom of the sea was referred to as Davy Jones’ Locker. I looked it up on google (I love google!) and I encourage you to do the same. Make sure you type Davy Jones’ Locker, or you’ll just get a bunch of shit about the Monkees.
5. It’s nice to know that big Hollywood screen writers are Terry Pratchett fans.
6. The bit with the ravens was done better in Excalibur
7. I believe the scene with Davy playing the organ was homage to Disney’s 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. But James Mason didn’t play the organ with his face.
8. The snake in Tia Dalma’s hut is a beautiful specimen of an albino Burmese python.
9. Did Cutler Becket make anyone else think of Draco Malfoy?
10. Will, your father is dead and he’s not going to get any less dead! Spare us the heartfelt speech and get the fuck off the boat!!
11. Also, since crew of the Flying Dutchman are dead; why is Davy Jones sleeping? The dead don’t sleep! I know! I know! It’s in the script!
