I shall be stealing this later... I don't think I've had to use a candy thermometer before -- though I think we have one around the house someplace... It sounds reasonably easy though!
Maybe I'll give peanut brittle a try for Christmas and try the pumpkin next year... Is it pretty much the same recipe to make it into peanut brittle?
And I will definitely be careful! At work on Friday I managed to burn myself (it blistered, ouch) so I will be trying *very* hard not to do that again!
Speaking of work, sorry for the delay in replies! I sort-of got roped in to working at another craft fair all this weekend... Thank goodness the madness ended earlier today!

The recipes are similar, but you shouldn't just substitute peanuts for the pumpkin seeds. This is the recipe I use for peanut brittle: http://www.marthastewart.com/page.jhtml?type=content&id=recipe1164.
It's very good. Remember to go by temperature; not time.
Oh dear! I'm so sorry! I hope it's not too bad a burn and it heals quickly.
No problem at all. I hope you had good weather and that you had a good time. What did you make this time?
