Summary: Playing a type of Rock, Paper, Scissors with Grey's & PP characters, try to out-strategize or just out-luck your opponents
Okay, I'm excited about this game. I hosted it last year at hogwartsishome and people really seemed to like it, so hopefully you will to0! It's a teeny bit complicated, though, so make sure you read all the rules first and ask if you're unsure about anything! The basic idea behind this is Rock, Paper, Scissors, so hopefully you have all played that!
The Setup
Oh, no! It seems the doctors at SGH and the doctors at Oceanside have gotten into a little disagreement. They all think they are the toughest, most undefeatable doctor of them all. But who is really?
At the bottom of this entry is an alphabetical list (by first name) of 25 different characters from Grey's & PP. I have secretly randomized them to rank them 1-25 with 1 being the best, most undefeatable person of them all to 25 being the poor soul who loses every single time. Only I (*insert evil laugh here*) know the rankings. Not even Aly gets to know :)
All you have to do is comment with one of the characters. Then someone else will reply to you with a second character who they think will beat yours. Then a third person replies with a third character who they think will beat both of the others. Once there are three characters, I will comment with who won. Winners get 5 points. Losers get none. (No consolation prizes in this battle, bbs.) You can earn a maximum of 50 points.
How you play is up to you. You can just guess randomly and hope you're right. Or you can pay attention to the other guesses and figure out the rankings and form a strategy.
Of course, you know it can't be that easy. There are four rules. Not following the rules will be cause for some point disqualification.
♥ Rule 1: The third person who comments should include something in the subject line along the lines of 'Let's Play!' This is so I can easily find you, in case the comment load gets high and LJ notifications go wonky as they tend to do lately.
♥ Rule 2: No more than 5 unanswered comments at a time per person. So no posting 25 threads with all 25 characters. Or replying to every single person. Only 5 at a time. Once I have responded to them, you are free to make 5 more comments. I'll try to make my comments as timely as possible, but please note, I do have to sleep and do my job, so there may be a few delays here and there. I'll try to keep my status posted down below, though, so you'll kind of have an idea of if I'm around or not.
♥ Rule 3 - AND THIS ONE IS IMPORTANT!: Once you win, the character you guessed cannot be used again. So, say you beat your two opponents by guessing Denny the ghost. You are not allowed to use Denny the ghost again. (This is where that whole strategy thing starts to come in, if you've figured out the rankings.)
♥ Rule 4: Once you reach 50 points, you may continue playing to help the rest of the members of your team get their 50 points or to figure out rankings, but PLEASE don't just guess the ones you know will win. To make it fair for people who haven't gotten 50 points yet.
Special bonus points: Here is that whole strategy thing I was talking about. This part is OPTIONAL, but for those of you who like logic and numbers, it can earn you some points. It's simple. By looking at the winners and losers, figure out the rankings in order from 1 to 25. Once you think you have them figured out, PM or email them to me. You may discuss this in your team comms. At the end, the team who comes the closest (or, if more than one team gets it all right, the team who is first to PM/email me) will get 25 bonus points. (Also, because there is no way to figure out who is 24 and who is 25, I will give you a hint. When you get those figured out, put them in alphabetical order by FIRST name.)
