"It's a small Oakland after all..." There's a counselor there (or whatever they call you folks that shepherd around the wee spawnlings) called Erin. She's got rather long hair. Say hi to her for me; she's a good friend of mine.
And wow, not giving even one day off when asked for way in advance is astoundingly anal.
Hey, I know her. And yes, her hair is impressively long, I'll be sure to say hi. She's nice, and (lucky) has a nice small group of kids (3 in week one, maybe more now).
What you do is wait till the day before the reunion, call your boss real late at night, cry and say you've had a family emergency and won't be able to make it in the next day. If he asks you what happened say you don't want to talk about it.
