If anyone out there has any experience with wood carving, tips would be appreciated! I'm currently making Ben's anniversary present [he doesn't read this, so I'm safe! :P] and realise that I haven't carved anything since Std 4 Maori education! PLus this time I don't have chisels, just a wee knife.

I'm pretty sure I have a few chisels somewhere if you'd prefer to have the option...

Wood is a pig to carve! Oamaru stone is much easier, if you can source it. Either way good luck
