The depression around us...

Every week I try to make sure I do something constructive and hope it outweighs the destructive. I have got to stop letting FB ruin my mood though. I find myself having difficulty not criticizing that there seems to be so much anger, and complaint. And then I find myself complaining too. That's the hard part about life. Learning to recognize ( Read more... )

I don't think that by and large people are quite as grouchy as their facebooks and livejournals would indicate, it is just that people tend to post when they are grouchy and not when they are busy being ungrouchy. Make any sense? When bad stuff isn't happening I am usually too busy actually enjoying breathing to stop down and post much about it but when things go tits-up I get reflective and grouchy, and bitch about it online :)

I hope so but I'm noticing a disturbing trend. It's not as much about the daily normal life and living aches and pains and sufferings. Those things happen. It's the complaints about endemic and systemic hatred, abuse, class differentials, I'm right-they're wrong, absolute intolerance for intolerance instead of trying to live together, and also Occupy movements which you see a perfectly rational justification of why their violence was okay but the other side's violence wasn't okay. =/

I should also say... =P If this was FB, I'd have had to delete your comment due to non-PG classification censorship BUT... this ain't FB. heheh. I can only hope none of my church or more PG friends are reading my LJ blog. LOL.

I think Facebook is very bipolar. I can read something good and feel very happy for the person in question, and then someone posts something insulting about something that I believe in, and I feel full of rage. I decided that I needed to express my feelings, so I've been making private posts on LJ. I want to put forth more positive things or just daily updates on Facebook. I'd rather make people smile than tick them off.

I will say that I, for the most part, feel optimistic and positive about life and my life in general even if I do complain sometimes. I usually like to write down what upsets me. It makes me feel better. I think a lot of people are probably like that.

I would say that is true about you. I've never had an issue with anything you've typed or said. Even if I didn't agree. =)

And your anger at things is usually short lived or at least you seem to focus and channel into positive things and doing things that can make things better.

Once I write it down, I feel better. If I don't, I put on some angry music, and I feel better. I don't really like being angry. I just doesn't do much for me. Depression is a harder one. Usually, I just try to do something positive like work on my writing or clean the house.
