On a separate note, it's funny how it took a bunch of academics to set up the IMF/World Bank, to have them then introduce those concepts of economics into schools, to have students grow up believing that this actually works until they start to think and form their own opinions. Suddenly, Bretton Woods ain't so magnanamous afterall.
I regret to inform though that I'm so apathetic the last time I watched a real-life demonstration was at the WTO Conference in HK in 2005. All I was concerned at that point though, was how the Korean farmers looked so good and where they found the money to fly themselves into HK & what they ate.

Can totally understand where this apathy is coming from. I've given up looking at the 'big picture' but am trying to focus on the immediate things in my life. I guess that's where the appeal of this little project is- everyone can participate. It might not change the way the IMF is or the things it does right away (or ever), but taking a stand is important to me as a person.
I am familiar with the industry that is NGOs, protesters and lobbying. it ain't pretty either. But i am interested to see how the government deals with it...
