So I've been given the boot. Have to move out end of July. I'm in search for a new job in the West End or something better. Also need a roommate 1 or more. Unfortantely I can't afford rent by myself and St. Albert is too expensive for that. Plus I'd like to get away from there if I can ( Read more... )

I have to buy more things, forget the furniture. I have my bed, computer desk and a dresser. Maybe one day. Can't afford it but I don't want some 70's hand-me-down. Someone offered me a mustard seed couch. No thanks.

You can re-cover a lot of ugly old furniture. If the shape is ok and the price is free, you can just buy new material that you like (will cost a bit, but much cheaper than a new couch) and cover over it. I could help you with that, if you wanted. I have mad skillz. ;)

Also keep in mind that any roommates you get might have their own furniture, some of which ends up being shared (like a kitchen table or a couch). So you might not have to get it all at once.
