notes: This was just a silly drabble I wrote on tumblr, but people liked it so I thought I'd spread it around! The Parks Department goes to see The Hunger Games :)
“Literally, the most heartbreaking and invigorating movie I have ever seen in my entire life.”
Tears stream down Chris’s cheeks.
--
“That movie was dope,” Tom tells the cameras, smiling into the lens. “My boy Lenny is totally bringing back gold eyeliner, and I have to say, I am very grateful.”
He waves out his arms like wings.
“Wish my jacket could be on fire. The Tom on Fire. Anyway, after that stuff, I fell asleep.”
--
“It was super violent and crazy!” Andy pants, looking tired. “I’m like, just tired from watching it! There were knives and swords and spears and these crazy wolves! Just like, so violent! Killing. So much killing.”
“It was okay,” April deadpans, silently smiling to the camera with a gleam in her eye.
--
“I don’t understand blue hair,” Ann says, nose wrinkled. “Even in the future. But I do understand Gale. Leslie likes Peeta, and I don’t know. I like a manly man. But she is force-lending me all the books and I’m apparently supposed to read them by Saturday so we can discuss the finer points of Katniss’s relationship with that young one?”
--
“That boy with the muscles is fine.” Donna’s face lights up. “But I only went for the Breaking Dawn Part 2 trailer. My boy Edward Cullen is looking real nice.”
--
“That one with the braid gripped the bow all wrong,” Ron informs the camera with his brow furrowed. “I admired her diligence, but the delivery is nothing to be proud of.”
He thinks for a moment.
“But that one with the knives. She knew what she was doing.”
--
“It was, I don’t know, a little stressful?” Ben squints his eyes, unable to stay still. “I mean, one moment it’s quiet, and then there’s a wolf, or something? Leslie said I should read the book. I don’t know. There was a lot going on. I don’t really know if I’m gonna sleep tonight.”
--
“It was perfect!” Leslie chirps, clapping her hands together. “Just scary but good and Rue! She’s my favorite, I think. Next to Katniss! They really showed her strength, and I just hope April picked up on the importance of that. It’s so refreshing to see such a strong young woman kicking ass and taking names. And Peeta is adorable!”
Her face turns wistful.
“I do love a man that bakes.”
--
Jerry frowns.
“I thought they told me 6:30, but it was at 8:30. Then I accidentally walked into Silent House.”
He shudders.
“Never again.”
