It's appalling how little attention this and the violence at the other Occupy protests (like Boston) has been getting in the mainstream media. If it wasn't for Twitter (and now LJ), I wouldn't have heard a peep. And the same went for Oscar Grant. I'm really sorry you had to go through that.

I can't say what I personally think about Occupy. My housemates and I went down and visited a couple communes that had been set up downtown (before they were torn down, that is), just to get a feel for what was going on. I came out of it hating the cops, hating the protesters, hating myself. It's hard to explain. All I can say is that it's confusing. It's sort of as if a bunch of hipsters took over 4chan and decided to start tearing shit down.
