Okay, so I don't really update, well, ever, but I just have to say something right now because I am pissed. Really fucking pissed. Today I was coming back from a (pretty successful I think) date in Berkeley. Holy shit. I'm glad you made it home.

It's appalling how little attention this and the violence at the other Occupy protests (like Boston) has been getting in the mainstream media. If it wasn't for Twitter (and now LJ), I wouldn't have heard a peep. And the same went for Oscar Grant. I'm really sorry you had to go through that.

It was pretty awful. I wasn't all that concerned for my own safety, but it was just upsetting to see that happen in a city I'm growing to love.

I can't say what I personally think about Occupy. My housemates and I went down and visited a couple communes that had been set up downtown (before they were torn down, that is), just to get a feel for what was going on. I came out of it hating the cops, hating the protesters, hating myself. It's hard to explain. All I can say is that it's confusing. It's sort of as if a bunch of hipsters took over 4chan and decided to start tearing shit down.
