[ When the video turns on, a short haired woman appears on screen. She appears in her late twenties, possibly early thirties, and is focusing very intently on the screen. In fact, her eyes seem to be focused on something apart from the screen, in front or behind it. The truly unusual thing here is that the whole image is obscured by an odd purple

Yeah, it takes a minute to get used to that thing. You're actually talking to pretty much everyone, though it gets the introduction bit out of the way.
