Acoustic
“I couldn't really stand the music much longer.” Explaining this softly. “I hope you don't mind the company.”
Smirking as she shook her head, Tia watched the elf, trying not to stare at him, but finding him far to alluring not to. “No the company of someone sober and quiet is nice for a change. And I don't blame you for the music.” A little look back and a shiver as she heard Dekar and Berty start to sing another song. “At least it's acoustic and not with any of those instruments from Gratze.”
Looking away for a moment to the thick jungle that surrounded the area and then back to Artea, not sure about the customs of the elves but she wasn't to worried right now about being thought less of if she walked alone with a man. “Do you want to go for a walk with me?”
I didn’t think this was part of the deal
Darting under the axe that was aimed for his head Berty slid skillfully out of the main door to the small castle. The bag of stolen goods clung tightly in his hand as he ran down the main street, ignoring the yells from the guards for him to stop, calling him out to be a thief as he ran. Tossing the bag into a carriage near the orphanage near the edge of town he shooed the group of children out of his way before jumping onto the carriage and making the horse start to move. Looking back at the town once he was a quarter mile off, but his triumphant yell being cut off as he noticed the little blond half elf sitting behind him.
Fallen
Watching the young man silently after his story had come to an end, Artea reached out after a moment, placing a hand against the red head’s arm. “Jeros, if you’re blaming yourself for what happened, you shouldn’t. Your mother and father knew what they were doing before they left for the island. They gave their lives for both you, as well as everyone else in Percelyte. The only fault lies with Daos and the other Sinistrals for starting the war in the first place.”
“I know-” Nodding slowly but not seeming to be all that convinced about the blame. “I still need to go, I want to go where the island had fallen. It’s the last I can do, I want to bring them back.”
Run Away
Finally coming to a stop when he reached the edge of the pond, and one of the boats the little elf started to try and untie with no luck. Not looking up at all when the older elf came down from the trees, having followed him.
“Artea? Where are you going?”
“I’m running away-” Saying this as a matter of fact.
Smiling lightly she saw the determined look in his eyes, reminding her perfectly of his father. “Would you really want to leave Eseriko?”
Nodding without hesitation. “If I run away, you can’t force me to be a guard like daddy was.”
“So you would leave the forest unprotected?”
Opening his mouth to respond, but falling silent as he shook his head, looking away defeated.
Forbidden
Tia shifted a little uncomfortably under her father’s gaze, feeling rather like a child at the moment.
“I just don’t see why you can’t find a nice man to settle down with?”
“Artea is a nice man.”
“He’s an elf!”
“He fought along with Maxim on Doom Island, when lesser human men couldn’t even move in Gades’ presence.”
“He is still an elf. And I forbid any daughter of mine to marry such a- a… a creature.” Pausing as he tried to soften his voice. “Whatever happened to knight from Bound Kingdom? I’m sure he would love to have a wife like you.”
“I love Artea.”
“Elves are hardly one step above capsule monsters!”
“Then we wont worry to invite you out to the wedding.”
Impress
“Alright Barty, this is your chance to impress me, do good son.” Saying this to the little boy who nodded back to him Berty stayed hidden as the boy wandered off.
Bart coughed weakly as he walked up to the group of people, looking a little confused as he rubbed at his watery eyes. “Mama?” Questioning softly and jumping back in fake fear as the Queen turned and gave him a sad look.
“What’s wrong child, are you lost from your mother?” Kneeling down and reaching out a hand to him and a soft smile when he moved quickly to her. “Poor dear, don’t worry we’ll get you back home.” Not noticing as when he hugged her back, he slipped away her pouch of gold.
