I like your attitude. Only you can live your life. So, do it. :)
I'm glad Song of Myself has been of use to you. I think everyone would be better off if they read it (and understand it, of course). It is pretty inspiring. In a poem,. Allen Ginsberg refers to Whitman as "old courage teacher" it's easy to see why.
And that reminds me of one of my absolute favorite parts from Whitman:
"Long enough have you dream'd contemptible dreams, Now I wash the gum from your eyes, You must habit yourself to the dazzle of the light and of every moment of your life.
Long have you timidly waded holding a plank by the shore, Now I will you to be a bold swimmer, To jump off in the midst of the sea, rise again, nod to me, shout, and laughingly dash with your hair"
that always makes me smile a little.
So, you know, best of luck to you once again. I feel like I've said that like a million times lately. I guess because that's all I can offer.
