I meant to comment on this forever ago. Because it reminded me of Lady Lazarus, by Sylvia Plath. Of course, Plath's poem is far more... strange. But it's one of her best, I think.
Anyway, I like what you've written. It reads well. I like the imagery. I've been reading a decent amount of amateur poetry lately and it is giving me a whole new appreciation for a well written poem. Seriously, check this segment out:
Maybe she didn’t care Maybe she did Her actions towards me I can’t ever forgive I cried till I laughed I laughed till I cried I couldn’t take the pain I just wanted to die
SERIOUSLY. And that's not even the worst.
And people comment on this stuff saying, and I quote, "this is amazing!"
I don't know who is worse, the writers or the readers.
Anyway, sorry for going on, I needed to complain about that.
