o I've gotten to the part in "Diary" (yes, I take forever to finish books, shoot me) where the main character is proposed to by her now deceased husband. Apparently all he needed to do was show her his sloppily pierced nipple (he used a brooch) to snag her. It was at an art gallery that displayed some of her work, AND the first time they had ever ( Read more... )

Hah, I like your explanation. You make an interesting observation. It's kind of beautiful, really, what you're saying and the way you say it. It's nice. I like how you compare people to works of art, or at least him to one. Every once in a long while I find myself at a museum where a particular painting will catch my eye and I will love it immediately. I might not understand it, but I immediately start to develop a hundred ideas of what it could be about, what it is, what it means. And I feel like I could just spend the rest of my life absorbing it. So, maybe that's how love can work too. For an artist, anyway.

Oh, and I know that you are a fan of Edward Albee, so I have a question. Which one of his plays do you like best? I've never read anything by him, but I want to read one. Which is not to say I won't read others, but before I go out and get a bunch of them I'd like to start with one and decide how much I like it. So, save me the time of having to decide and choose one for me.

Thaaanks.

The Zoo, no doubt. Honestly, I cannot remember for the life of me what it was specifically about, but I remember being completely infatuated with it the first time I read it in Seerman's class in senior year. That has to be a good sign, right? :)

Thank you for understanding my point of view on what I wrote, by the way. It's hard to see how someone can be fascinated so easily, but it happens. It happens to me so often. So it became simple for me to be able to relate to her, as ridiculous as I thought she was being. And I love nothing more than words formed in a beautiful way. It keeps me smiling. I do this for myself, really. But thanks for enjoying it in the process.
