buried beneath three feet of soft, wet soil. dense, constricting, and leaving throats full to the brim. packed into the sockets like animals stuffed with white cotton, their stitches pulling at the seam.
I've been editing my own work and my classmates' for the past couple of hours, so I'm kind of in poetics-mode. But I'm never sure when discussion of poetic form is appropriate, because I know a lot of the stuff I post has less to do with poetry and more to do with saying something any way possible. And then there is explication, which I'm never sure is actually worth writing here, because clearly you know what you mean, and I feel as though I understand the meaning most of the time, so perhaps there is no need for me to articulate those thoughts here
