I have just spent the last 40 minutes sitting in a chair staring out the window looking at the subway sign across the street. During that time I did not move once, other than to cough. I was almost in a state of being physically handicapped because i could not move my legs or arms. I only had control over my blinking and the involuntary response of ( Read more... )

I know the struggle well...of whether or not to speak my mind, and being ridiculously worried about the effect that my words will have on others...I think its understandable, though not at all pleasant. You are right in saying that it sometimes leaves the one with something to say a little more dry...seeing as they gave most their energy to keeping other people from feeling the way that you currently do.
But don't forget about yourself, and your feelings. They matter as well. And don't think that you are alone. You have a few friends right here that are there for you, and I can probably speak for all of them in saying that if you ever need an ear or a shoulder, we will be there to lend it.

"at this moment in time you don't see the effects it could have and whether or not you may or may not be involved in this battle with my conscience."

I gave advice making no exception of myself. Even if what you really felt you had to do was directly related to me, I would still say "Do what you feel you have to do." Personally, I could never hold it against somebody for saying something they truly feel the need to say. I think whoever it is that you're concerned about affecting should have the same respect for you and your right to your feelings. And if they can't respect that, then that's their problem, and not yours.

Yea, i agree with Ian. Say what you truly feel and never feel bad for it. There's never anything wrong with your emotions as long as they are true to yourself. I know how you feel, it is very difficult to say how you truly feel, especially since you're putting it all out there but it can only end two ways: crappy or a reward. It's worth the risk if you truly mean it i'd say.
