i know i don't have a say but i would go for the basment, you can prob paint it up however u want and put your pimp lights on the ceiling! plus its more private. but u don't get a view and u can't have a bird in the basement. how long has your aunt been there? like 2 years?

i dont think i would be changing the paint since ya know that takes money and i dont know how private that would be because my mom says that taylor and her friends would hang out down there and when her friends arent over shes on the computer for like 5 hours at a time and thats so annoying listening to her type. and i definitly would miss the view of outside but i guess i dont have to spend all my time down there. and it would be cool to have like a fridge and huge entertainment center and access to a computer thats convenint....but again my parents arent sure if they want me down there for some reason. i think it might be a trust thing or something? but then again i think they would rather me be downstairs in the open when ur over instead of in my dark room with the door shut LOL.

i would take it , and paint is cheap, u can get it for like 5$ .they trust u, have they said anything to u about me being in your room with the lights off?
