So I'm hanging out in Knoxville as part of an international Creative Problem Solving competition. There are about 7000 team members here, grades K-12, not to mention families, etc. What a perfect time for a white supremacy rally! SWAT has already surrounded the courthouse, and police escorts are required to move through the center of town. Talk ( Read more... )

It seems Vanguard (the group holding the rally) is really, really pissed that the Christian-Newsom murder didn't get any news coverage because the media was busy with the Duke "rape" case. In the Christian-Newsome case a college age white couple gangraped and sexually mutilated while still alive by a mixed-sex group of blacks. The guy was killed the night they were abducted, the girl killed several days later.

So now they're using this murder as a supposed example of anti-white genocide or something so they can rage against Jews in the media and blacks committing crime.

But hey, here's a picture from the event that is funny in so many ways it's hard to count.

You're right. I started counting the ways it was funny, and I couldn't finish. I really wish I could read the clown signs, but oh well.

This is Tim, by the way, and I'll be back to Bloomington tomorrow or the next.

this article breaks down some facts and fictions about the case. i think it makes clear that the story has been (unsurprisingly) blown out of proportion. why had it avoided national coverage thus far? maybe because the facts were so unknown, or maybe because the guilt of the perpetrators was never in doubt? i'm not really sure, but i don't think a similar case of white-on-black or black-on-black or white-on-white violence would've attracted national attention. and now, an attempt to de-sensationalize the case by protecting its contents has instead turned into a sensationalized circus for hatemongers and their enablers.

boo tragedy exploited for nefarious political gains. hooray beer!
