Quick update. Convention last weekend was amazing. I didn't cry as much as I thought I would, but it really hit me when I got home. I'm really upset that everything just ended. Some good things came out of Convention.. besides the stress and everything with the board, I:
-got to hang out with the EHT [Egg Harbor Township] boys a lot.
-won a $1000 scholarship
-won a Robert F. Lucas Outstanding Lieutenant Governor Award
-won an Oustanding District Board Member Award
-got to announce our $75,000 for Alex's Lemonade Stand
-was won by Dylan at the Board Raffle =D
-met the kids I'll be sitting with at EHT prom
-got a lot of compliments on my dress Saturday night
-got free pizza!
-went to Hooters for the first time with some of the board
-got to shop at the King of Prussia Mall
-danced with Greg Jones, IP Governor of Carolinas, and Joe Lepper, International President
I miss it a lot and have been talking to everyone a lot. It was a lot of fun and I can't wait for International Convention in July. There's like 7 old board members going, plus Dylan'll be there so I'm guaranteed a good time. Looking back on the year, there's a lot of things I could have done and handled differently, but this is the way things turned out so I guess I'm happy with the product.
School has been shit. Had to make up the millions of things I missed while I was gone, handle attendance problems, then got report cards. Couldn't drive to school for a day and my parents flipped out on me, but within a day they turned around and kind of took it all back. =P So things are cool and I'm set.
12 days until the Morris Catholic show, Les Miserables. May 11, 12, 13. Practice every day of the week except Friday for like, 3 weeks. The cast has been really nice to me so I'm definitely going to the cast party and looking forward to everything coming up with that.
20 days until [Dylan's] prom. Getting my dress hemmed next week.. I got shoes and am probably borrowing a purse. Looking for jewelry still, and need to make a hair appointment. Getting a manicure/pedicure the day before prom, also the day of the chorus concert.
Starting the second week of May, I have at least two performances a week: Teen Arts, Concert, Teen Arts States, Copeland concert, Sparta concert, VPS Final Performance, Tri-M Inductions. Wonderful.
Life is alright. I'm busy so I haven't had time to sit down and think about things. Which is a good thing.
Practice from 11-8ish today, then 12-7ish tomorrow. Les Mis music has been running through my head all week.
